Newquay Fish Festival
18th - 20th Sep 2009 Now in it's 7th year!
“The Festival gives Newquay an opportunity to showcase one of its hidden gems 'the harbour' and has proven an extremely popular event with both residents and visitors. The event takes place in September as a follow on to the main holiday period, and has been blessed with marvelous weather every year. The practical cookery demonstrations by local chefs are undoubtedly the highlight of the festival, with hotels and restaurants being able to promote local fresh fish and shellfish and locally available produce.”
The 2009 Newquay Fish Festival was by far the best ever. The harbour was thriving with people from far and wide as the aroma of barbecued fish hung in the warm Indian summer air. There's something very special about Newquay Harbour that the festival really brings to life; maybe its the proper Cornish fishing community that still thrives there - as it has for centuries - or maybe its just a result of the sheer hard work and commitment that those involved put into the event. It is for sure a permanent and well loved feature that shows a completely different side of the Newquay we all love.
Many thanks to Chairman Alan Thain for his four years hard work, commitment & dedication that has made the event such a great success.
