The food craft and arts tents bring together the best of Cornwall's local products and foods. From traditional pasties and Cornish cakes to curry, crepes and chocolate fountains, the Newquay Fish Festival is not just about eating fish.
All day fish barbecues on the harbour quay and fresh battered fish available free for a small donation to the Fisherman's Mission; fresh mackerel smoked in a converted filing cabinet and a range of shellfish caught that morning... What more could you want? A cold pint in the Skinners beer tent? A Cornish beer on the rowing club veranda? The Newquay Fish Festival has everything you'll want for a great Cornish day out.

A number of community groups also have the opportunity to use the event for their own fundraising purposes and these generally include the Newquay Old Cornwall Society, Newquay Society of Artists (who also paint on site) and Newquay Hospital League of Friends to name just a few, with Newquay Churches Together organising an open air ‘Songs of Praise’ in the Harbour to conclude the event on Sunday evening.

Undoubtedly the highlight and core of the event are the cookery demonstrations taking place every day over the three days of the festival in the fully equipped demonstration marquee. Local chefs from hotels, restaurants and bistros entertain the visitors with their flamboyant demonstrations and of course the opportunity to taste the results is greatly appreciated. In addition to the cookery we have smoked fish, pilchard BBQ, fish sales, crab sandwiches, Oysters, fish filleting demos, the Lobster Hatchery, and all sorts of other ‘fishy’ goings on.
